The Glider Initiative was founded in 2007.  Headquartered in Michigan, we are a registered nonprofit within the state of Michigan and have federal 501(c)(3) tax exempt status.  The Glider Initiative strongly believes in sugar glider education and outreach.  We are committed to the education of owners, breeders, brokers, rescues, pet shops, veterinarians, and other sugar glider enthusiasts. We are dedicated to reaching out to those in need and helping prolong the lives of sugar gliders everywhere.  We believe all sugar gliders deserve a chance at an amazing life, and that starts with the education of those who own them.  The Glider Initiative holds seminars, educational classes, conferences, and other meetings to educate owners and public persons regarding health, feeding, husbandry, and other aspects of sugar glider ownership.  To find out more about The Glider Initiative, please visit our website at, or contact our Director of Veterinary Resources at
SouthEast Companion Animal Rescue and Education Services, Inc.
SouthEast Companion Animal Rescue & Education Services, Inc (SECARES) began in 2006 as SouthEast Sugar Gliders, an online sugar glider information forum.  Incorporated as anon-profit in the State of Florida in 2008, we received our federal 501(c)(3) tax exempt status in April of 2009.
Our goal is to improve the lives of companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership.  In addition to our educational articles, we offer financial assistance for veterinary treatment, including spays and neuters.  SECARES is very involved in animal rescue and works diligently to support those whose mission is to save animals.  Our Rescue Outreach Department offers several programs available exclusively to these dedicated organizations.  We also operate SouthEast Sugar Gliders Rescue and Sanctuary which is located in South Florida.
